An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Allied Health Assistant to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.

You are responsible for delivering safe and effective personal care and clinical care under the direct and indirect supervision of an allied health practitioner, in accordance with the patient’s needs, goals and preferences to optimise their health and well-being.  You contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the allied health team, Primary Care Services, by performing a wide range of duties to support the work of the allied health practitioner.  You contribute to an environment that is conducive to person centred care which fosters a culture of consumer engagement and partnership.  Practice according to the Victorian Assistant Workforce Model and within the scope of practice defined by each allied health discipline.

About you:

• Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant from an Australian registered training organisation - essential
• Specialisation in an allied health clinical practice area.
• Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in the delivery of duties to support allied health practitioners.
• Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Good computer literacy, including ability to access and use organisational IT systems and emerging technologies which are relevant to the completion of clinical care.
