An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join the Urgent Care team at Portland District Health.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide clinical leadership to all team members to ensure that person centred care is planned, implemented, evaluated and maintained at a high standard. The ANUM acts as a professional and clinical role model for all team members and demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge and skills while assuming a management focus in the department. The ANUM is an integral member of the department’s management and leadership team. Roster will include Shift work, Night shift, Weekends and Public Holidays.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing and/or Intensive Care
- Current triage training/competency
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Emergency Department and/or Urgent Care Centre
- Strong clinical assessment, escalation, prioritisation and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, support and mentor nursing staff
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in an ANUM or senior clinical leadership role - desirable
- Experience supporting junior staff, students and new employees - desirable
- Knowledge of quality improvement, risk management and clinical governance processes
- Ability to contribute to education, audit, policy compliance and service improvement activities
