An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Dietitian to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.

You are responsible for delivering safe and effective clinical care that requires a higher level of clinical decision making that is relevant to unit/department.  You practice and deliver dietitian services across the acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community-based settings within Portland District Health.  You support the development of clinical and leadership skills in staff placed under your responsibility and less experienced dietitians, allied health assistants and students.  You contribute to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department. You contribute to an environment that is conducive to deliver the four quality goals which are focused on putting the consumer first in everything we do. About you:

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as a Dietitian with membership or eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia
  • Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in speciality area of practice
  • Extensive clinical knowledge, skills, and leadership experience in dietetics.
  • Demonstrated sound advanced clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Understanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolio
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues, and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds.
