An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for anew graduate through to an experienced qualified Exercise Physiologist to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.
In this role you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective personal care and clinical care, in accordance with the consumer’s needs, goals and preferences to optimise their health and well-being. You practice and deliver exercise physiology across the subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community based settings within Portland District Health. You support the development of clinical skills in staff placed under your responsibility. You contribute to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department.
About you:
- Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with membership and accreditation through Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
- Working towards a Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in speciality area of practice
- Significant level of clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in exercise physiology.
- Demonstrated sound clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated sound communication skills, written and verbal
- Understanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolio
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including ability to access and utilise organisational IT systems and emerging technologies which are relevant to the completion of clinical care.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds.
