We are looking for a Health Care Worker Grade 1 to join our supportive Community Aged Care Services team at Portland District Health.
As a Healthcare Worker – Community Support, you will provide high standard services that support and assist clients living at home to achieve maximum independence by meting daily living and personal requirements within their plan of care, with consideration of individual preferences. The role will assist clients to maintain their independence wherever possible and to provide daily care requirements using a person-centred approach in accordance with the client’s individual care plans. Must be available to work flexible ours Monday to Friday, including public holidays if required.
About you:
- Capable of performing work within the scope of an unqualified Health Care Worker under supervision
- Previous experience as a Health Care Worker, desirable
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support, from an Australian registered training organisation or recognised equivalent qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
- Current first aid certificate and CPR certification
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary health care team.

- Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues, and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on delivering friendly, courteous, and respectful service to patients and residents.
