An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Speech Pathologist to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.
You are responsible for delivering safe and effective clinical care that requires a higher level of clinical decision making that is relevant to speech pathology practice. You practice and deliver speech pathology services across the acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community-based settings within Portland District Health. You support the development of clinical and leadership skills in staff placed under your responsibility such as allied health assistants and students. You contribute to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department. Fixed term or negotiated contract available, minimum requirement 5 months.
About you:
- Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as a Speech Pathologist with membership or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in speciality area of practice
- Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in speech pathology.
- Demonstrated sound advanced clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Understanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolio
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including ability to access and utilise organisational IT systems and emerging technologies which are relevant to the completion of clinical care.
